Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask most — about cost, admission, visiting, payment, and care.
How much does care at Eyu Adult Family Home cost?
Monthly rates depend on each resident’s level of care, room type (private or shared), and specific needs. Because every plan is individualized, we provide a clear, itemized quote after a short assessment. Please call us at (425) 737-3678 and we’ll walk you through pricing honestly and answer every question.
What does the admission process look like?
It’s simple and supportive. First, we talk by phone and schedule a tour. Next, we complete a care assessment to understand medical and personal needs (often with input from a physician or current care team). We then review the care plan and agreement together, arrange a move-in date, and help make the transition as smooth and unhurried as possible.
What are your visiting hours?
Family and friends are warmly welcome every day, Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. We simply ask for a quick heads-up for visits around mealtimes or rest periods so we can make your visit comfortable. Special arrangements can be made for holidays and important occasions.
Do you accept Medicaid, insurance, or other payment options?
We accept private pay and work with several payment options, and we participate in Washington State Medicaid programs (such as COPES) for those who qualify. We can also coordinate with long-term care insurance and Veterans’ benefits. Contact us to discuss what applies to your situation.
Is Eyu a licensed adult family home?
Yes. We are licensed by the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) and follow all state adult family home regulations. Our caregivers are trained and certified, and our license number is available on request.
Do you provide dementia, Alzheimer’s, and hospice care?
Yes. Our caregivers have specialty training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, providing calm routines and a safe environment. We also partner with hospice agencies so residents can receive comfort-focused, end-of-life care in the familiarity of their home, with family close by.
Can residents bring their own furniture and belongings?
Absolutely. We encourage residents to bring photos, bedding, a favorite chair, and cherished items. Familiar surroundings make the room feel like their own and ease the transition.
What is the caregiver-to-resident ratio?
As a small adult family home, we care for only a limited number of residents at a time. This keeps our ratio low and our attention high — one of the biggest differences between a home like ours and a large facility.
